Satisfaction guaranteed
We appreciate the Gaston County customers who trust us with their homes and businesses. Our goal is straightforward: careful service, clear communication, and a treatment plan suited to the pest problem in front of us.
Rodney and Patty Allman have run Envirosafe out of Belmont together for more than 30 years. There is no call center and no rotating cast of technicians, when you call, you reach the people whose name is on the truck.
That is also why we will tell you when you do not need a treatment. We would rather keep a customer for fifteen years than sell one service today.
Envirosafe is a family-owned termite and pest control company working out of Belmont, North Carolina. We have been at this for more than thirty years, in the same county, under the same name.
Our technicians are trained in eco-friendly, low environmental impact methods, targeted treatment applied where pests actually travel, rather than blanket chemical applications across the places your family and pets spend time.
That approach is also why we will tell you when a treatment is not warranted. Thousands of Gaston County customers later, the track record is the argument.
Rodney Allman founded Envirosafe in 1995, the same year he met his wife, Patty. Patty helped Rodney get the young company off the ground, beginning what would become more than three decades of building Envirosafe together.
For Rodney, however, the foundation for Envirosafe started a year earlier.
In 1994, Rodney graduated from Clemson University’s on-site MTTS program, an intensive experience that helped shape the technical approach he would later bring to Envirosafe.
While at Clemson, Rodney met Dr. Ogg and was given the opportunity to complete an internship working alongside the regulatory side of the structural pest-control industry.
It wasn’t simply learning what product to use for termites.
Rodney learned the standards behind performing structural termite treatments correctly: where structures must be drilled, footing depths, slab construction, traditional treatment calculations, application requirements, and the details that determine whether a termite treatment is actually performed to standard.
That experience helped create a philosophy Rodney still follows today:
Understand the structure. Understand the pest. Understand the standard. Then determine the treatment.
Today, Rodney has more than three decades of professional experience in structural pest control and environmental services.
He serves as a licensee in the wood-destroying organism and general household pest phases of structural pest control across North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.
One of Rodney’s specialties is structural inspection.
He serves as Envirosafe’s structural inspection expert for real-estate WDIR and CL-100 inspections, evaluating structures for evidence of termites and other wood-destroying organisms and the conditions that can contribute to those problems.
After thousands of inspections, treatments and unusual pest calls, Rodney still enjoys the investigative part of the business.
He’s also still the old guy Envirosafe sends out when somebody has to grapple with the hornets.
Some jobs apparently don’t come with seniority.
Rodney’s career also extends well beyond traditional pest control.
He serves as Asbestos and Environmental Superintendent for Envirosafe and holds asbestos-related professional accreditations in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Through Envirosafe’s environmental operations, his experience includes asbestos abatement, environmental testing, mold testing and mold remediation.
That environmental background has strongly influenced the way Rodney approaches pest management.
Pesticides are important tools, but they aren’t the entire toolbox.
Effective pest management can involve structural corrections, exclusion, moisture management, sanitation, habitat modification, monitoring, baiting and carefully targeted pesticide applications.
The goal isn’t simply to spray something.
The goal is to understand what’s causing the problem and fix it correctly.
Rodney’s termite experience has also included developing and writing termite treatment standards for the Catawba Indian Nation, ISWA.
That work draws on the same technical foundation that began with his Clemson training: understanding construction, termite biology, treatment calculations and the structural details that determine how a termite treatment should actually be performed.
For Rodney and Patty, Envirosafe isn’t simply a company headquartered in Belmont.
Belmont is home.
Both were born and raised in the Belmont community, and they raised their family here while building Envirosafe.
Rodney also spent years volunteering as a youth football and baseball coach in Belmont, working with young athletes and families from the same community where he grew up.
More than 30 years after Envirosafe began, those local roots still matter.
Customers aren’t dots on a service map. They’re people Rodney and Patty see at restaurants, ball fields, stores and around town.
Despite decades in the industry, Rodney doesn’t consider himself finished learning.
Pest-control products change. Building methods change. Regulations evolve. Technology improves. And occasionally an insect shows up that makes even somebody with 30-plus years of experience stop and say:
“What in the world is that?”
Those are often Rodney’s favorite calls.
He’s still involved in inspections. Still studies unusual pest problems. Still evaluates treatment methods and products. Still works with Envirosafe’s technicians.
And yes, apparently he’s still climbing ladders after hornets.
That curiosity is also the idea behind the educational and case-file sections of this website: sharing unusual pests and real situations Envirosafe encounters in the field, explaining what they are, why they’re there and how the problem can be solved.
Because more than three decades after starting Envirosafe, Rodney still believes the best pest-control professionals never stop asking questions.

For over 30 years, Envirosafe has built our reputation one satisfied customer at a time, safe, effective, organic pest control that Gastonia and the surrounding area know and trust!
