Rodent Control in Gastonia, NC
Mice and Rat Control for Gaston County Homes
Mice and rats are the pest problem most likely to come back. They breed fast, they chew, they contaminate food and surfaces, and they get in through gaps most people would never think to check. A mouse fits through a hole the size of a penny. A rat needs no more than a quarter.
Envirosafe has been handling rodent work across Gaston County and the surrounding Carolinas since 1995. We are family owned out of Belmont, and rodent jobs are a one time service with a warranty behind them, not an open ended contract. Call or text 704-860-2041 and we will come look at it.
Signs You Have Mice or Rats
Most people find droppings first, usually in the back of a pantry, under a sink, or along a wall in the garage. Other things worth paying attention to:
- Scratching or scurrying in walls and ceilings, most often right after dark
- Gnaw marks on food packaging, baseboards, wiring or stored boxes
- Greasy smudge marks along walls where they run the same path every night
- Shredded paper, insulation or fabric pulled into a hidden corner for nesting
- A sharp ammonia smell in an enclosed space like a crawl space or attic
- Pets suddenly fixated on one spot in a wall or cabinet
If you are seeing any of that, there are more than you think. Rodents stay hidden until the population outgrows the space it is hiding in.
How We Get Rodents Out and Keep Them Out
Killing the rodents in the building is the easy half. If nothing changes about how they got in, you have the same problem again next fall. Our rodent service covers both halves.
1. Inspection
We walk the structure inside and out and find the actual activity: runways, droppings, nesting areas, and every gap, vent, pipe penetration and foundation crack they are using. This is what the rest of the job is built on.
2. Interior Trapping and Baiting
Inside the structure we set traps and bait in the places rodents are actually traveling, placed out of reach of children and pets. We come back to check and clear them rather than setting devices and walking away.
3. Exterior Bait Stations
Locked, tamper resistant stations around the exterior perimeter intercept rodents before they reach the building. This is the part that keeps pressure off the structure once the interior is clear.
4. Sealing the Entry Points
Our technicians seal the gaps found during the inspection so the next generation cannot follow the same route in. If sealing is the main thing your home needs, we also do that as a standalone service. See our pest proofing page.
5. Cleanup and Sanitizing
Droppings and urine are a health issue on their own. Rodents can carry hantavirus, which people contract by inhaling particles from infected urine, droppings or saliva, and salmonellosis is a risk anywhere rodents have been. We sanitize the contaminated areas as part of the cleanout. More on that on our rodent cleanup and sanitizing page.
One Time Service, With a Warranty
Rodent work here is sold as a one time job carrying a warranty period, so you are paying to solve the problem rather than signing up for something indefinite. If you would rather keep year round coverage against rodents and everything else, that is available as an ongoing protection plan instead. Either way we tell you the price before we start.

Common Questions About Mice and Rats
How fast can you get rid of them?
Most homes are quiet within the first week or two, depending on how established the population is. Larger or long running infestations take longer, and we will tell you honestly which one you have after the inspection.
Is the bait safe around kids and pets?
Exterior bait is kept in locked, tamper resistant stations, and interior placements go where rodents travel and children and pets do not reach. Tell us about pets in the home and we will plan around them.
Do I need the sealing work, or is trapping enough?
Trapping clears what is inside now. Sealing is what stops the next ones. If you skip the sealing, expect to be dealing with this again, usually when the weather turns cold.
What is that smell after the rodents are gone?
Usually urine and nesting material, and sometimes a carcass in a wall or crawl space. Our sanitizing service handles the contamination and the odor rather than covering it up.
Do you handle attics and crawl spaces?
Yes. Those are two of the most common places we find rodent activity, and crawl space moisture often makes the problem worse. See our moisture control and crawl space page.
Do you offer a free inspection?
Call or text 704-860-2041 and we will come out, tell you what you are dealing with, and quote the job before any work starts.
