Safe And Effective Termite Control Options For Protecting Your Home.
Termite control is what we do best. Envirosafe uses two very effective but very different approaches, and our technicians will help you work out which one actually fits your home, your foundation and your budget, rather than selling you whichever one we happen to be pushing.
Both plans are effective, both are safe around your family and pets, and both are built on low environmental impact products. Our termite technicians are trained specifically in structural termite work and eco-friendly treatment methods.
Trelona® ATBS® Termite Bait System
Our Trelona® ATBS® system, manufactured by BASF, uses in-ground bait stations installed around the perimeter of your home. Each station is secured with a Quik-Lock® cap to keep the bait locked in and kids and pets locked out, and is loaded with a Puri-Cel® cellulose bait matrix that termites prefer over the wood in your home.
As termites tunnel in search of food, they discover a station, feed, and carry a pheromone trail back to the colony, recruiting more termites to follow. The bait contains Novaluron, an active ingredient that interferes with the termites’ ability to molt, so as more termites feed, the colony gradually declines toward elimination. Our technicians service each station once a year, and since the whole system sits outside your home, you don’t have to be there for routine visits.

Second Method: Termidor® Termiticide
Unlike any other termiticide, Termidor® termiticide/insecticide kills termites through ingestion or contact. Because Termidor is non-repellent, termites unknowingly ingest it along with the cellulose and other material they normally ingest. Since termites can’t see, feel, or smell Termidor, they readily contact it as they forage for wood or other cellulose materials. So even if termites are not actively feeding, Termidor will kill them. Typical Termidor application rates contain 0.06% of the active ingredient fipronil, which is substantially lower than any other termiticides. It is not mutagenic, not teratogenic, and not considered a human carcinogen. It is also non-toxic to earthworms and soil microflora. And because it binds tightly to organic matter in soil, eliminating any potential for it to reach groundwater. With our Perimeter Plus Treatment even less termiticide is applied in the soil. Our targeted Termidor Treatments according to the Termidor Perimeter Plus label is the most environmentally friendly liquid Termite Treatment available.

Conventional Liquid Treatment
Envirosafe Pest Control has been using Termidor Termiticide in Charlotte and surrounding areas since 2001 and we have experienced exceptional results with no call backs. Termidor is recognized as the gold standard in termite control and our track record with it supports that claim. Our Termidor Perimeter Plus Termite Treatment delivers targeted environmentally responsible results, and is a low-dose treatment, with no odor.
We have relied on Termidor for homes across Gastonia, Charlotte and the surrounding communities since 2001, and our callback rate tells the story, it is essentially zero. Our Perimeter Plus applications keep treatments low-dose, low-odor and precisely targeted, so your home gets real protection without unnecessary chemical exposure.

Termite Bait System
Trelona ATBS baiting is the closest thing we have to true non-chemical termite control. Envirosafe Pest Control will install and monitor the Trelona ATBS system on the exterior without even entering your home. There is no drilling in floors or foundations required, and it results in limited disturbance to your landscaping.
For homeowners who would rather keep chemicals away from the interior of the home altogether, Trelona ATBS is about as close to non-chemical termite control as it gets. Our technicians install and monitor the entire system from the outside, no drilling through your floors or foundation, and minimal disruption to your landscaping.
Field evidence
What termite activity actually looks like
Mud tubes are how subterranean termites travel from the soil into your home. If you see anything like this, call us before it goes further.

In the field
A swarm, found in time.
This is what an active subterranean colony looks like when it finally shows itself. Swarmers pile up along sills, window ledges and slab edges, usually in spring, and they are often the first thing a homeowner ever notices. By then the colony has been working in the structure for a while. If you find anything close to this, call us the same day.
Swarm season
What a termite swarm means for your house
Eastern subterranean termites are the species we deal with across Gaston, Mecklenburg and York counties, and they swarm in the spring. March through May, usually on a warm afternoon a day or two after rain. A colony sends out winged reproductives to go start new colonies somewhere else.
Here is the part people miss. A swarm is not the beginning of a termite problem. A colony does not produce swarmers until it is mature, which generally takes three to five years. If swarmers came out inside your house, that colony has been feeding in or under the structure for years already.
Swarmers or flying ants?
This is the call we get most in the spring, and the two are easy to tell apart once you know what to look at. A termite swarmer has straight beaded antennae, a thick straight waist, and four wings all the same length that reach well past the body. A flying ant has elbowed antennae, a pinched waist, and front wings noticeably longer than the back pair.
The wings are usually the real evidence. Termite swarmers shed them almost immediately, so what a homeowner finds is a pile of identical clear wings on a windowsill, in a tub, or around a light fixture, long after the insects themselves are gone.
Inside versus outside
Swarmers coming out of a stump, a landscape timber or a mulch bed in the yard tell you there is a colony on the property. Worth knowing, not an emergency. Swarmers coming out of a baseboard, a window frame, a slab crack or a crawl space wall are a different matter. That means the colony has reached the structure.
What to do when you see one
Do not spray it. Over-the-counter aerosol kills the swarmers you can see, scatters the rest, and does nothing to the colony, and it can make the inspection harder by pushing activity somewhere else. Catch a few in a sandwich bag or on a piece of tape, leave the wings where they are, and call us.
We come out and find where they came from. From there it is either a liquid barrier treatment with Termidor around the foundation or a Trelona ATBS bait system, depending on the structure and on how you want the work done. Either way you get documentation, and we keep the file.
If you are buying or selling
Evidence of a past swarm shows up on a wood destroying insect report, and it will come up at closing. If you are under contract, see our termite reports and WDIR page. We turn those around fast and we work with agents in Gastonia, Belmont, Mount Holly and Charlotte every week.
In the field
Setting a Trelona station.
Stations go into the soil around the foundation. Termites find the bait on their own while they forage, then carry it back and share it through the colony. No drilling, no trenching, and our technicians service every station once a year. See our termite reports and WDIR page if you are closing on a home.
Our termite technicians are trained in eco-friendly, low-impact methods and in performing structural treatments to standard, drilling depths, footing depths and application rates included.
Termite damage usually goes unnoticed until it is already extensive, which is why prevention matters as much as treatment. Envirosafe has spent more than 30 years protecting Gastonia and Charlotte-area homes with a low environmental impact approach instead of harsh blanket chemicals, and every technician is trained to diagnose the specific termite pressure a property faces rather than applying a one-size-fits-all treatment.
